the word Mamihlapinatapei is listed in The Guinness Book of World Records as the "most succinct word" and it translates as "A look that without words is shared by two people who want to initiate something, but neither start".
And that is so freaking hilarious. Romantic too, yes, and perhaps a little awkward when you are one the two. This is really the basic inspiration for this painting. And yes, it is a sarcastic view from my disturbed mind lol… .I pictured two people having fun at a certain moment while sharing a look. The are both thinking to ask each other on a date, perhaps a movie, a dinner or a cup of coffee, but both are just looking. And what kind of look?Ha! A massively twisted look. The dude has such a tiny pupil he must be pretty crazy. the girl is all fired up but also a little bit rattled of the whole situations.
These moment are hilarious! and people are crazy. And you are crazy. And yes, I am crazy too.
