About this artwork
The train emerges through the haze, its headlights cutting across a crowd frozen in anticipation. The scene feels both familiar and surreal, a moment every commuter knows, stretched into eternity. Beneath the flicker of fluorescent lights, time seems to pause between arrival and delay.
The CGI production was the result of months of experimentation and detailed study of real underground stations to achieve realism and atmosphere. A subtle layer of… noise was added to mimic the grain of a high-ISO photograph, as if captured in low light to freeze this fleeting moment.
Rendered in CGI from an impossible vantage point to dramatise the moment, Long Awaited explores the fine line between reality and illusion, inviting the viewer to consider their place within the scene.
