About this artwork
With this piece, I wanted to capture the irony between luxury and simplicity, playing with vintage elements and pop culture. Acrylic paint merges with found objects to create a vibrant and lively contrast. It will bring a playful, quirky energy to your interior, offering a thought-provoking commentary on consumer society. A true nod to excess and humor!
I played with elements of pop art and the vintage aesthetic of Scrooge McDuck comics to create… a kind of visual irony. I use acrylics, collage, and a paper Dior bag to provoke thought and amuse. This playful subversion of a famous brand, with its paper bag juxtaposed with a comic book universe, highlights luxury consumption and the image of popular culture. It's a dialogue between luxury, accessibility, and humor that will energize any room with an offbeat yet thoughtful touch. I use recycled materials to give it a rebellious spirit.
Raphaële Jacob, after a career in advertising, now has twenty years of self-taught artistic experience. Employing drawing, acrylic spray paint, collage, and object assemblage, her art is reminiscent of Pop Art, with marked influences from comics. Her harmonious works integrate often overlooked everyday elements, transforming banalities into poetry and magic. The emotion felt in her art is a joyful delight, an invitation to give free rein to the imagination and dream of a different world. Raph participates in numerous exhibitions: Art shopping, Art3F, Expo4art, Imperial Palace Annecy, group exhibitions, etc.
