Plant inspiration – Jean-Marie Pelt Botanical Garden
Between emergence and disappearance, Écume incarnate explores the fragile boundary where life reveals itself before dissolving. The white, almost unreal bloom seems to emerge from a deep red background, like a wave frozen at the moment of its breaking. Nothing here is entirely stable: matter seems to vibrate, to waver between appearance and memory.
The repetitive pattern in the background evokes… an immutable structure, an ancient order, against which the flowering branch opposes its ephemeral grace. This encounter creates a silent tension: that of passing time versus what persists, of organic breath versus the sign.
The work does not depict a scene; it offers an experience. It invites us to contemplate that which, in every birth, already bears the trace of its disappearance. A froth, yes, but embodied, laden with memory, suspended between the sensory and the absolute.
