About this artwork
In this piece I layering acrylic and silver leaf to create a hauntingly textured horizon. The muted tones invite reflection, while the abstract line cutting through evokes a fleeting moment of hope amid darkness. Cotton’s subtle texture adds depth, making it feel alive. This work brings a profound, contemplative energy, perfect for sparking quiet introspection in any space. this was from my Ocean rock series and it was on Main Street in Santa Monica… that sold to someone who lived by the ocean for her bedroom which is very Zen and peaceful the painting definitely has a haunting feeling worse sometimes the Pacific Ocean definitely has a feeling and this is from my Ocean Rock series!!
Rebecca Both is a painter with a strong academic background, honed since high school and refined at the American Art Academy. Her intuitive process combines the spontaneous movement of pigment with tools like trowels and oversized palette knives, while she also masters painstakingly realistic commissions. She explores natural themes, particularly the ocean, creating art that evokes reflection, joy, and revelation—inviting viewers to see and feel the world in ways they hadn’t considered before.
