This painting, inspired by the textured surfaces of the work of Anselm Keifer, contains grasses, leaves, straw, earth, twigs, etc.
I started this painting as autumn turned to winter and we were still waiting for the rain to come. Everything around me was dry and sere. Yet there was beauty in colors of nature as golds, ochres and browns took over.
