Renato de la Riva is a painter whose creative practice is deeply informed by his background as Director of “Theater of the Absurd” and experience with Mexico’s National Theater Company. His technique resists defined formulas, emerging instead from raw emotional impulses, using strokes and colors that are spontaneous and deeply expressive. His works inhabit a space where personal exploration confronts universal anxieties, awakening a profound "duende" that speaks directly to life’s emotional complexities. Through his evocative theater-infused paintings, he seeks to stir the viewer’s soul and communicate the essence of life itself.
