About this artwork
The URBANITIES series opens, a visionary journey between myth and the contemporary city. White architecture emerges from a layered landscape of ash and fire, evoking both dehumanization and vital resistance. A poetic and critical reflection on the urban condition of our time.
In this work, I wanted to capture the pulsating heart of the city, somewhere between dream and reality, using transparent colors that blend like confused emotions. Each small… building symbolizes stories of life, memory, and hope. The mix of materials expresses the complexity and layering of urban existence, bringing vibrant and reflective energy to the viewer. A dance of light and matter transforms the space.
I'm a self-taught painter, and what sets me apart is my free and instinctive use of color, which in my work is layered to create dense textures and crowded urban landscapes. I began with more spontaneous and light-hearted works, then evolved towards a more conscious and critical approach. At the same time, I explore abstraction with works inspired by Pollock and Rothko. My Cities are born from abstract foundations. The City as a complex organism that reflects the contradictions of our time. My series explore three great fragilities: the vulnerability of cities to climate change, the wounds inflicted by man through wars and manipulated ideologies, and the inequalities between glittering centers and forgotten peripheries. I paint universal, non-geographic cities as a metaphor for the human condition: places that bear the hopes, scars, and tensions of our time.
