About this artwork
He dreamt as a child he was sat with knees by his chest with a small pebble by his foot. The small pebble, in an instant, was the size of the night sky. Later in life when writing about this dream the only person that he had known to do the same was Carl Jung. Once this dream created anxiety now replication creates wonder.

One of the key themes in Rian Hotton's art is his choice of palette, with which he happily takes risks. While he paints, Hotton listens to audiobooks on a wide range of topics, which influences the subjects of his pieces, almost as if they are a visual diary. He describes his painting style as 'boldly unorthodox', using both oils and acrylics.
