Ricardo Valbuena (1960 - 2020) is a passionate Colombian painter and draftsman who has exhibited his work internationally, including in Ireland, Spain, the UAE, US and UK. Long fascinated by the human figure, he aims to use it as a starting point for exploring the depth of the human soul. Through rich, sensual painted surfaces, he depicts figures ascending towards light as representations of both human essence and metaphors for the journey of life. Valbuena's colour combinations and tactile textures highlight an elegant dance dance of ying and yang, forming a harmonious whole.
