Our ancestors imagined that the stars were, in fact, eyes looking down at us from the night sky. This magical interpretation is just one reflection of their cosmovision: the profound and unique way a culture perceives, interprets, and understands the world around them.
Inspired by this ancestral heritage, the present artwork represents a jaguar in the vastness of the night. This majestic and powerful animal was one of the most sacred symbols for… Mesoamerican cultures. Beyond embodying the darkness and the inescapable mystery of death, the jaguar was considered the lord of the underworld and the fierce guardian of the earth. For our ancestors, the spots on its coat were a direct reflection of the starry night sky, connecting its earthly strength with the cosmos. Emerging from the shadows, this piece reminds us of the hidden power of nature and the bravery required to navigate through the dark.
