About this artwork
Many times my father painted flowers that he had given to my mother or that my mother had been given. Here, too, he tries to take account of the incidence of light through the skilfully used white color. This gives a lively, three-dimensional impression of the still life.

The late Richard Friedt was an artist based in Switzerland whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. His distinctive and vivid landscapes, cityscapes, still-lifes, abstractions, and figurative works were often inpsired by the scenery of Spain, Ticino, France, and Italy. Friedt's unique style and use of color was translated through acrylics, oils, and watercolors on synthetic board.
