About this artwork
The "portrait" of a pink peony that grows in my garden. I try to depict a flower, a peony, as realistically as possible and without any lovely accessories. With flower images you always walk a fine line between art and kitsch. The peony portrait, frontal like a passport photo, clear and objective, avoiding any emotional reaction, allows us to see it in all its variety of leaves and shapes.
