Richard Mauro is an exciting Australian painter based in France. Having formally trained in both London and France, his educational emphasis was primarily placed on painting models from life, much like the academics of the 19th century. A realist painter, Mauro is mostly intrigued by the proper rendering of light and how we can mimic life, almost fooling the eye, using only a certain number of pigments.
