About this artwork
This is a screen print constructed from a repeating shape. The stencil for the repeating shape comes from packaging from a light bulb. The long portrait shape is reminiscent of a door - looking at the work might be an entrance to a different place. As well as the positive X shape of the stencil, the repeated white shapes also become visually active

« My printmaking combines elements of pop art, minimalism, and abstraction. »
Richard Peacock is a painter and printmaker based in the U.K. who has exhibited his artworks in London. While he loves abstract art, Peacock's compositions contain numerous links to the world we live in. He often uses recycled materials in his work, including discarded packaging as stencils for screen prints and builders cable drums for woodcuts. Colour, repetition, and variation are all key elements in his artistic expression.
