About this artwork
Richard Peacock has often used triangles in his work. This print joins the triangles to form incomplete hexagons – which made thorny, burr-like elements. This artist often draws from nature and has always liked Graham Sutherland’s spiky images (like Thorn Head, 1945). This piece grew section by section, quite organically. Richard wanted to give the impression the image continued beyond the edges of the paper, like a bramble spreading and the thorns…
