About this artwork
In this work, I chose deep, passionate red tones to create a strong emotional impact. Using watercolors and charcoal, I created a realistic depiction that embodies both mystical charisma and unfathomable strength. This woman in her wide-brimmed hat is not just a figure; she is an allegory of power and self-confidence. Her gaze is steady and penetrating, captured in a moment of calm and reflection. She makes a powerful visual statement in any space,… bringing an aura of mystery and elegance.
Inspired by the culture in her childhood city of Dresden, Rieke Schmieder began writing and painting her own fairytales at the age of 5. Having a career as a professional painter, her works contain this same fantasy, delicacy and passion that inspired her all those years ago.
