About this artwork
This painting was inspired by rockpools along the Cornish coast. It captures a moment just before sunrise when there is still some lingering mystery of night, but day is opening up to the sky. I wanted to express this sense of rebirth associated with the the rising sun, but also with the sea and it's ever changing tides and moods.
