About this artwork
As aI was a kid I read the story about Dali getting inspiered by his dreams.. I thought that was insane.. But now am an adult, I dream a lot and I wake up remembering every small detail of my dreams, where this stairs come from.
I had a dream of me being a student again at the 7.th grade at my old school in Homs, which was partly destroyed at the war. My classroom was at the first floor and I was walking the stairs down with my friends to the school… yard for the break.
Suddenly the stairs looked round, strange and green! strangely everyone else could go normally down and I got stuck up there trying to figure out how to walk down.. Sadly I couldn't.. I just remained standing up there starring at the stairs so that I memorized it, woke up and painted this painting.
The painting combines the calmness and mystery of the interior with the surreal perspective and invites the mind to a journey inward beyond the normal.
