About this artwork
This canvas breaks down the beach into living layers: first the sand, yellow and mineral, where our footsteps are imprinted. Then comes the blue of the sea, changing with the depth—sometimes ultramarine, sometimes sky blue. Finally, the foam, joyful and light, dances on the waves before washing up on the shore.
A regular, reassuring cycle, where each element knows its place and its role. Yet, seen from afar, the beach seems uniform, unchanging,… almost static. An illusion of calm, while we, too, are intimately linked to this eternal movement.
