About this artwork
This body of work is painted in loose style using various mixed media including Acrylic pens, pastel, willow charcoal and graphite on gallery quality archival paper.
The liquified paint trails emulate the much craved rain drops we long for in Australia and bring movement to the piece, which celebrates spring time at the advent of spring 2022.
Celebrating Australia's magnificent native flora, REK explores the Sculptural… nature of the iconic gum nuts and wattle flowers their spectacular golden blooms using varied multilayered techniques and a broad range of mediums to create this work on paper.

Rob Rek is a multi-award-winning career artist and tutor, working from his studios in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. His artworks are driven by the perfection and fine details of the natural world.
