About this artwork
This painting was completed with an initial layer of modeling paste with a grid pattern etched deep into its surface. Later layers of blues are brushed into the canvas in a wet on wet method, directly mixing the colors on the canvas and allowing for it to invade the cracks and crevices of the modeling paste. Over the top of this grid structure arching lines were painted by brush to offer a counter point to the grid structure. The painting was…
completed in the orange/blue complementary color palette to add vibrancy and energy to the subject. A final layer of white mica and black mica added to the top layer to refract light and energy. The entire piece is covered with a semi gloss gel to give a rich patina. This is a gallery wrapped canvas with edges painted black. The artist signature is on the right edge. It is wired and ready to hang in the orientation displayed.
