About this artwork
Many of my pieces use the motif of text and colors that evoke water and natural elements. In this piece I painted various brush strokes of vibrant shades of reds, yellows, greens and blues in a slight wavy pattern with each brushstroke being original and different from the others. With theses strokes I wanted to create abstract feeling of movement, grass and the sensation of floating.These brushstrokes are painted in a composition around the canvas…
against a washed blue background. Interspersed in the composition are small text that are distorted to the viewer. I want the viewer to feel like they were either looking in to the deep abyss or our from below depending on the viewers mood. A few areas are treated with glass beads to give the painting a three dimensional quality. This is a gallery wrapped canvas and the edges are finished in black. The artist signature is painted on the right edge in white. This canvas is wired to hand in the orientation shown.
