About this artwork
In my creation I use antique inks mutated with lime on a heavily textured work surface, later adding tempera and oil pigments to deepen and strengthen, creating an abstract representation of the fusion and fragmentation of naturalness and dynamism. The vibrant crack line divides the canvas and symbolizes a spontaneous act of discharge - a powerful, impetuous separation that at the same time opens up new possibilities. The warm earth tones surround… the break, intense and inviting, creating a space that radiates both contemplation and energy. This painting brings a vibrant, emotional energy to any home and inspires continuous reflection and discovery.
Robert Kachel, with a background as a technical illustrator, uses canvas, pen and marble powder mixed with bone glue, among other materials. His unconventional approach combines traditional materials and modern techniques, while playing with reactions and destruction that occur during the painting process. Through intuitive painting, Kachel reflects emotions and situations, with hidden stories beneath layers of high-quality pigments and inks, often enriched by a touch of clinging gold leaf.
