About this artwork
A beam of light breaks through the darkness, announcing the arrival of La Bestia. Across the tracks, a cross rises as a threshold between the permissible and the forbidden, between faith and condemnation. The image embodies the paradox of the migrant: a figure criminalized by law, yet also a symbol of a radical search for freedom.
Here, the act of transgression becomes inseparable from the act of belief. The painting suggests that faith, whether… religious, existential, or born of survival, does not belong to the realm of order, but to the gesture of crossing the limit. The border, more than a territory, is a concept: a construct that divides bodies, desires, and possibilities. The glow of the cross offers no redemption, only awareness; the realization that this line, whether traced by a rail or by a map, does not separate good from evil, but reveals their shared fragility.
