The Gismonda: My tribute to the mystery
Presenting "La Gismonda" means for me revealing an intimate dialogue between art history and my contemporary vision. In this 2017 work, I wanted to reinterpret the world's most famous enigma, stripping it of its academic guise to give it a new, vibrant and material soul.
Her face, with an almost marble-like calm, emerges from a background I painted like a vortex of energy: instinctive brushstrokes of green… and blue that represent the noise of the modern world. Her gaze isn't looking for you, but is directed elsewhere, toward an invisible horizon, inviting anyone who observes her to lose themselves in their own thoughts.
I worked hard on layering the paint to give the canvas a tactile, living texture. It's not just a painting, but a fragment of my creative journey, which seeks beauty in pure emotion. I imagine it taking center stage in a space that can embrace its silent strength.

My name is Roberto Costantini, aka Roby.ni. Since 2014, I've been transforming the invisible into matter. My journey as a self-taught artist is guided by a unique perspective: I'm colorblind. My motto is "I color my emotions." My painting is never planned, but is born from profound connections with the divine: moments of inspiration in which I become a channel for a higher energy. Each of my works is a fragment of the soul, a bridge between the everyday and the sacred.
