About this artwork
Total / Endependent is an installation of an image painted on paper divided into 24 20x20cm squares glued on canvas, therefore a breakdown from total image to fragment. It is a glimpse of the suburbs of Naples. The creation process takes place through memory that filters the passages from photography to the sketch and the work. The image appears as a sort of puzzle, where, reversing or changing the order of each piece, it presents itself as an abstract…
image with some vague figurative trace which, as a pretext, takes the elements belonging to the complex world in which we are immersed, to tell about them new visual and chromatic solutions, starting the engine of the imagination. From a single image, each piece separated from its correspondent acquires a new value, an independence that legitimizes its uniqueness.
