About this artwork
In this work, money loses its reassuring function and becomes a fragmented and unstable image. The euro banknotes—50, 100, 200—are not instruments of exchange, but symbols of a value continually redefined by new generations.
The composition, inspired by contemporary Cubism, breaks down the concept of wealth: money is everywhere, but never whole. Stacked, rotated, broken into geometric planes, it reflects a hyperconnected society where economic security… and precariousness coexist. Bold colors and sharp contrasts evoke the financial and digital aesthetics of the present, between physical cash and abstract flows. The work doesn't celebrate money: it interrogates it, questioning power, desire, and identity in our time.

« I call my paintings, "intense moments of life". They are the result of an internal explosion of feelings and sensations expressed on the canvas. »
Roberto Re is an artist based in Italy whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, San Marino, Austria, the United States, Switzerland, and Monaco. His artistic expression always draws on different themes or "veins," through which he blends techniques and style to best express his concept. Roberto Re reinterprets the great masters of art history through a contemporary cubist fragmentation that transforms memory, time, and matter into new visions.
