About this artwork
Much of Robin Ballard's work is inspired by her experiences in nature. While walking home one evening in early spring she noticed the sky was covered with rain clouds. In a moment, they thinned, allowing the sun's setting light to push through. In reality, although the tree's branches were almost black in color, the artist decided to paint them a dusty blue. The setting was cold and wet, but nonetheless made beautiful through the artist's interpretation,…
creating a new sense of reality, where soft colors are blended together, and perhaps where a sense of up and down follows no rules. This painting is part of the artist's “Habitat” series, which is a celebration of trees, plants, botanical forms and animals. The painting is stretched on a frame and is easy to hang.
