About this artwork
“Peacock” is part of the artist’s “Im-Material” series, which reflects on material and immaterial wealth. Translucent circles of blue, green and yellow form a downward pattern. To the right, black acrylic paint has been partially dripped over the image. The painting contains many layers of overlapping colors and has a painterly feel. For the artist it is an abstract interpretation of a male peacock’s feathers. “Peacock” works well on a white wall…
as well as one painted in dark colors. This painting, as with all the artist's work, is mounted on stretcher bars for easy hanging.

« My art is associative. It’s how I interpret the world around me. »
Robin Ballard is an exciting Swiss painter who has exhibited her work nationally. In her paintings, she primarily reflects on contemporary issues such as migration, the rise of China and global dependency on crude oil, seeking not to impose any particular stance but rather to provoke thought and introspection. Ballard additionally enjoys the play between abstract and realistic representation, expertly navigating both to compose a body of work that showcases impressive diversity across a range of styles, subjects and forms.
