About this artwork
“Winter's End” was painted in anticipation of spring. The artist imagined how the trees in a forest slowly wake up from their long winter's sleep. On first glance, the viewer might think that the round circles of light across the canvas are fireflies. But the artist sees these balls of light as energy which will culminate into growth. “Winter's End” was inspired by the artist's hikes around her home, where she herself was awaiting the coming of spring.…
This painting is part of the artist's “Habitat” series, which is a celebration of trees, plants, botanical forms and animals. It is stretched on a wooden frame and is easy to hang.

« My art is associative. It’s how I interpret the world around me. »
Robin Ballard is an exciting Swiss painter who has exhibited her work nationally. In her paintings, she primarily reflects on contemporary issues such as migration, the rise of China and global dependency on crude oil, seeking not to impose any particular stance but rather to provoke thought and introspection. Ballard additionally enjoys the play between abstract and realistic representation, expertly navigating both to compose a body of work that showcases impressive diversity across a range of styles, subjects and forms.
