About this artwork
Interstice proposes a telescoping of the volumes of the mountain with those of the books. This dialogue is born through drawing in the obstinacy of wood engraving, emphasizing the invariant fixity of the observed structures. The painting, for its part, interprets this dialogue on the terrain of the phenomenon, it makes a singular, colorful and nuanced reading of it. The engraving is frank, the painting equivocal.
Here are some of the reading tracks:… subduction, archaeology, primordial elements and their transformation, nested scales, symmetry, verticality, folk statuary, sacred art, pantheism, and obviously the interstices where, among these gigantic forces and universal principles, singularity is born.

Robin Suiffet
France
Robin Suiffet, who studied languages and literature, oscillates between painting, photography, drawing and engraving. His technical approach, inherited from Alpine wood sculpture, mixes shadow and light to create a universe that is both overloaded and luminous. Taking philosophical paths, his works invite contemplation, transmitting a dark serenity in the face of the infinite scales of the cosmos, seeking to make us aware of our humble human condition.
