About this artwork
Rodrigo Wise
Mexico
« I am an artist who seeks to distract your attention and spread the emotions or feelings that motivated each work. »
Mexican visual artist Rodrigo Wise, born in 1976 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, is a self-taught creator recognized for his vibrant and distinctive style. He abandoned a career as a lawyer to dedicate himself to art, finding in it a way to express his creativity.
His works, characterized by the use of striking colors and varied textures, often feature disproportionate figures, such as faces with large eyes and mouths. His creative process is emotional, transforming feelings of stress and worry into art through unconventional techniques. Wise seeks to capture the viewer's attention with his creations, which often include imaginary characters like his recurring figure "Wise's Chicken," symbolizing forgiveness and love.
He has exhibited his work in galleries in multiple countries, including Mexico, the United States, Russia, France, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and Belgium.
