About this artwork
The result of the deliberate damage, or rather of the transformation, of my personal archive of negatives that were initially formally flawless. It is an aesthetic of deconstruction and error as a possible source of beauty, which sounds jarring compared to the myth of perfection that has always been pursued in fashion photography. The operation is configured as a set of playful attempts and tampering with the physical support of my art, therefore…
as a study of the means rather than the end. Through manual and chemical interventions on the film, I obtained “destroyed” yet possibly more pictorial images.
In this piece, I embraced the tactile imperfections of analogue photography to evoke a dreamlike, almost ghostly presence. The textured surface blurs reality and memory, inviting viewers to feel the fragile nature of identity. It radiates a quiet, contemplative energy that would bring a profound emotional depth to any space.
