About this artwork
In this contemporary illustrative study, I capture the form of a walking monkey using a raw, expressive mix of green and yellow marker work. The figure’s natural movement and anatomy are sharply interrupted by a rigorous pattern of parallel purple stripes.
These stripes act as a conceptual cage, a linear confinement that traps the animal within its own state of being. Through this visual tension, I explore the constraints that define the human condition,… where the vibrant pulse of life is forever contained and defined by external, rigid structures. It is a meditation on existence and boundaries, merging traditional animalier subjects with modern graphic sensibility. This original artwork is part of my continuing search for the interaction between freedom and the abstract frameworks that define it.
