About this artwork
In this oil on canvas painting, I explore the hypnotic complexity of the human eye. By focusing on a hyper-magnified view of the iris, the anatomical structure is transformed into an abstract landscape of light and texture.
Utilizing a thick, impasto-like brushwork, I’ve layered shades of sage green, golden ochre, and deep slate to mimic the organic patterns of the eye. The stark black pupil at the center acts as an anchor, pulling the viewer into… a contemplative, almost meditative space. This work challenges our perception of the familiar, turning a biological detail into a cosmic, universal symbol of vision and soul.
