About this artwork
The painting began as an abstract work and moved into an imaginary landscape based on themes present in the other works of the main series. The Deep Forest is a mood for the solitary person in nature and the world of appearances. The setting is inspired by the deep wilderness areas of Northern California form the mountains down to the mysterious Redwood coast with its ancient giant trees, turquoise rivers, lakes and wild beaches.
