About this artwork
A large part of my inspiration comes from my environment, from the fascination for the myths that surround the history of Mexico. In this painting I have represented Quetzalcoatl (The Feathered Serpent), a fascinating being and one of the most important gods of Mesoamerican culture.

Roque Reyes is an experienced Mexican artist with international exposure. His paintings can be divided into two main themes: the first being the realistic representation of his culture- he is Oaxacan of Zapotec origin- and the second a surrealist, dreamlike style. Shifting between the personal and the universal, Reyes reflects the confusion, chaos and beauty of the human experience.
