About this artwork
I was a window that gazed at the world for years, breathing in seasons, voices, and silences from within the heart of this stone wall. I watched sunrises filter through my bars, heard distant footsteps, and kept secrets that only time can reveal. Though I was torn down and my body no longer inhabits the wall that held me, here I remain: suspended in the memory of the one who refused to let me disappear.
I am crack, texture, and scar; I am the imprint… of a house that withstood stories. The paintbrush gave me back my voice, and the palette knife gave me back the rough skin of the stone, so that oblivion cannot erase me. I no longer protect an interior, but now I safeguard something different: memory.
In this canvas I am not ruin. I am permanence.
