About this artwork
In this piece, I wanted to capture the urban magic and vibrant energy of that moment just after the rain. I used oil paint to bring to life the warm light that contrasts with the bridge's cool structure, evoking nostalgia and hope. When you look at this painting, you'll feel the city come alive in your space, illuminating and filling any corner of your home with character.
I don't just show a bridge; I speak of connection, of transit, and of shared… solitude. I am the moment when the city becomes intimate, when the rain transforms the asphalt into a mirror, and each reflection reminds us that even in the most vibrant metropolis there are moments of suspended calm.
Rosa María Fernández is a self-taught painter with thirty years of experience, now fully dedicated to her art after retiring as a teacher. She uses oil on cotton or linen canvases, favoring a figurative realism that sometimes borders on social realism; she occasionally begins with acrylic but always finishes in oil. Her works explore urban and natural landscapes, portraits, and everyday objects, masterfully capturing fleeting moments and memories. Her painting conveys a profound sense of life, an urgent need to express moments and stories that touch the soul.
