About this artwork
“Diptyque” is composed of two small canvases braced together with metal brackets. It is a double portrait of sorts. On the left, a person who appears confident and relaxed. On the right, a full length figure with both arms amputated. The contrast of the two sides seeks to evoke the idea of impotence, and the inability to affect change against circumstances.
