About this artwork
The compositions for my paintings are inspired by my childhood memories of reading comic books and watching cartoons on TV. I realize that my "memories" change over time and become more abstract in a way hence the characters in my compositions are becoming more and more abstract with every stroke.

Ruben Nieto was born in Veracruz, Mexico. He holds a BFA from the Universidad de Guanajuato and an MFA in Arts and Technology from The University of Texas at Dallas. Nieto has shown internationally in Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France, Canada, Mexico, and the U.S.
