About this artwork
My memories of cartoon characters fade away in time becoming abstract forms mixed with shapes from prehispanic glyphs. Influenced by Abstract Expressionism and Pop art. I was a freshman in college when I started incorporating prehispanic glyphs and geometry into my paintings. The square shape was very important for prehispanic cultures. It represented the cardinal points and they believed their gods and deities lived in the center of the square.…
They built up as high as possible to get closer to their gods.
