About this artwork
One day, a dog named Bobby woke up terrified from his nightmare after an inexplicable transformation. His first thought was: Did this really happen or did I just dream it?
This painting was created based on a funny idea: I imagined what it would be like if all of our dogs suddenly grew enormously and got out of control? Would they all behave "normally" as usual or differently?
In this painting I mix realism with a touch of surrealism to create… a captivating scene. The pug, staring emphatically into the unknown, embodies a mixture of curiosity and irritation, which is heightened by the unexpected encounter with the hovering helicopter. I play with the idea of unpredictability and the reactions it leaves on our souls. This artwork is intended to encourage the viewer to reflect on life's unexpected moments and how we react to them.
« What motivates me most when painting is the idea that I'm creating a "new life" in the form of a painting that emotionally touches and affects other people. »
