About this artwork
Who hasn't dreamed of tons of candy as a child? How nice it would be if you had a mountain of cotton candy, a truck full of chocolate and a cistern filled with ice cream!
I tried to imagine such an idea in the form of an oversized donut that flies directly from the sky to the earth and will land in the next moment. A young girl watches the whole thing and can't express her happiness in words because this donut is so huge that it would last her… whole life and she wouldn't have to worry about the sweets anymore...
It was very important to me that the donut was depicted as realistically as possible in order to bring out the "real" illusion as realistically as possible. That's why I worked with different glazing techniques.

Rudolf Kosow is an experienced German painter who has exhibited his work in France and Germany. He works around three main subjects: humans, animals and landscapes, and is particularly interested in combining these components to create a special, unique atmosphere and aesthetic. Realistic figures meet in compositions in strange and surrealistic ways, leaving each viewer free to interpret each painting's ambiguity. His overall aesthetic is laced with intrigue and magic.
