About this artwork
'Catastrophe' from his "Series of Pun Paintings". The idea for this painting came about while watching the news where they mentioned 'it was a catastrophe'. The artist broke down the word phonetically into 'cat', 'ass' (donkey), 'trophy'. The flint lock musket is an added touch and to give it an appeal of being hung in a old cabin.
In his 'pun paintings' he deconstruct the English language by use of the pun. My Pun Paintings appeal to me personally… for the humorous aspect and the witty form of intellectual play. Collectors of his work have expressed to him how much they love his work, every time they see it, it makes them smile and ready for whatever activity is next on the agenda. Also what a great conversation starter they are.
