About this artwork
The four works "Epiphytes" are paper cutouts based on shellac ink drawings, layered in two layers.
Epiophytes are plants that grow on other plants and—unlike parasites—coexist. In the study of connections and systems in human and plant networks, these drawings offer a fragile representation of ever-changing structures.
Depending on the light and viewing angle, the shadows between the two drawings create another layer that constantly shifts or is… sometimes more or less visible. Change as a phenomenon that is always a theme in interpersonal relationships and in nature.
