About this artwork
From Being to Becoming – In the Stream of Becoming
The movement of water, relentlessly breaking through rocks and stone, is for me an image of life itself: pressure, resistance, breaking apart, letting go. In these currents, I see the forces that shape us from within, as well as the tensions and obstacles we must overcome.
In my painting, I translated this dynamic into color: every line, every texture, and every detail reveals the flow of inner… strength and transformation. It's about the hidden, about processes that shape us without us always seeing them immediately.
"From now to not-yet. From being to becoming."
Art has been a part of my life since childhood. Inspired by my grandfather, the sculptor Hans Schmitt, I discovered early on the power of color, structure, and material as a language beyond words. My path is less academic and more characterized by a spirit of experimentation and abstract painting. As a communications professional, I see my art as a bridge that opens silent emotional dialogues. I explore roles, masks, longings, and transformations—processes that shape our humanity. This has given rise to my series: The Outside (green and natural tones), The Inside (blue and turquoise), and Transformation (red and gold tones). Each series invites you to feel connections—to yourself, to others, and to the world. I work with abstract expressionism, acrylic, and mixed media. Layers, structures, pigments, and natural materials merge into resonant spaces. My art is energy in motion—an invitation to pause and reflect.
