The rural expanse of a vegetable farm near Stuttgart shaped Sabrina Schnell's perception early on through the rhythms of nature. To this day, a circle closes: her current studio is located in her parents' nursery. Those glass and steel greenhouses, with their microclimate and the contrast between geometry and organic growth, formed her initial visual vocabulary. She now expands upon this deep connection through living between Germany and Italy, as well as through impressions gained from several stays abroad.

Before color came into play, however, music, as her first mother tongue, filled the silence. She found an immediate form of expression in the piano and in singing. At the same time, she disciplined her mind and ear on the classical trumpet. This instrument demanded qualities that are also fundamental to her painting: precision, breath control, and the courage to seize the moment, which allows no room for hesitation.
