About this artwork
With acrylics, pastels, ink and colored pencils I explored the deep
connections and the intimate relationship between father and son that is established through
physical contact, touch, touch, smell in moments when you are most
vulnerable, such as during sleep. During sleep many features
are exposed or even hidden creating a mysterious atmosphere and
disturbing. My brush strokes convey a palpable feeling of
affection and intergenerational bond,… enclosing realism and symbolism in
an artistic embrace that celebrates unconditional love. In this sense I have
reflected on the transformations, changes and innovations of the
traditional culture regarding the relationship between father and son and how it is
changing with the emergence in man of feminine qualities, previously repressed
socially, such as caring for a newborn or infant,
and how this allows for a healthy and complete development of "being a child".
